Golden Gives Day Goes Towards Boulder County Wildfire Fund

Golden businesses are working together to support our neighbors affected by the recent Boulder County wildfires.

Last week, a quick burning wildfire rattled the Front Range and destroyed close to 1,000 structures. The wildfire started just south of Boulder, and quickly ran into the communities of Louisville and Superior. Dubbed the one of the most destructive wildfires in Colorado’s history, many folks are without homes, people have lost businesses, and it’s looking like a long road to recovery.

What next?

Everyone in Colorado is looking for ways to support the communities in Boulder County right now. Here in Golden, local businesses are combining their efforts to raise money for the Boulder County Wildfire Fund. Started by the Community Foundation for Boulder County, the fund is going to serve those directly affected by the fire.

7% on 1/7 for Golden Gives Day

On Friday, January 7th, Powder7 will be contributing 7% of our sales for Golden Gives Day to the wildfire fund. You can also directly donate to the fund here, or even send a check directly to them.

The fund is already distributing $5 million in resources to those affected by the fires. Even so, they can use all the extra support they can get. If you are looking for a starting point to help, this fund is a great start. The fund will also work with government and nonprofit partners to disperse the extra funds to those who really need it.

With the fires just 15 miles north of us here at the shop, this definitely felt close to home. We’re hoping that this fundraiser can take a bit of stress off of those affected, but we know that’s not going to solve everything. We’re sending all our best wishes to those affected.
