2016 Blizzard Peacemaker ski are the middle child of their twin tip freeride series. At 104mm underfoot, it is a great option for a western quiver killer. I tested the 186cm length and at 6’1″, 175 lbs, it was a great fit for me. The conditions at Copper Mountain that day were excellent. About 3 inches fell the night before which made the snowpack a bit more forgiving, yet created some crud for great testing conditions. I decided to try the Peacemaker because it was nearing the end of the day and I really wanted to test something fun and playful. I definitely got what I was looking for. When skiing on a twin tip, I usually look at the mountain a bit differently than on a flat tailed all mountain ski. My focus changes from carving out a nice turn to using every trail and aspect of the mountain as a terrain park. The flex pattern of the Peacemaker is a perfect mix for speed and jibbing. I was able to get some nice pop off the rollers and the skis held up very well on big takeoffs and landings. While a little bit wide for the pipe, I found the edge grip to be completely adequate. I also took a few bump runs and was surprised by how maneuverable the skis were despite their 104mm width. The Poplar and Bamboo core has excellent energy and cuts through crud with relative ease. Perhaps a metal version of this ski would handle that scenario a bit better. If you are a more progressive-style skier who is always on the prowl for natural features and challenging terrain, the Peacemaker is an excellent choice. While maybe not stiff enough for true big mountain skiing, Blizzard has offered advanced skiers a jib ski that can handle powder or a powder ski that can jib. You decide.
