Loveland Ski Area. Arapahoe Basin. Unlimited. For Free.
Sounds pretty dreamy, doesn’t it? We think so. That’s why we’ve been fantasizing about the would-be Loveland Pass Pass for at least six months now. Despite endless buzz around the Front Range, the pass hasn’t materialized.
So, we’re taking the Loveland Pass Pass beyond April Fool’s fodder and ski shop banter. For the 2019-2020 ski season, we’re making it a reality for one skier.
How it Works
OK, you’re right. When we say we are “making” the Loveland Pass Pass, we are really just buying one skier two passes. One to Arapahoe Basin and one to Loveland. But we have to have some fun with it—and Loveland Pass Pass is too good a name to not print on some promotional goodies.
To enter the Powder7 Loveland Pass Pass Contest, create a post on Instagram or Facebook in which you tell and show us why you deserve to be the LONE recipient of the Loveland Pass Pass.
The post must include:
-A photo, series of photos, or video less than 60 seconds in length.
-Your name and where you live.
-An original haiku in the caption. (A haiku is a three-line poem with five syllables in the first line, seven syllables in the second, and five in the third). Check out examples of haikus here. You might make us feel all sentimental about powder days or tell us your skiing history or explain why you deserve the pass or make us laugh or impress us. Your call! Be creative and be you—and make sure your work relates to skiing, mountains, snow, etc. You get the gist. (Hint: You probably won’t win with a haiku describing a flower you saw once…)
-Follow Powder7’s account, tag @powder7 in the photo, and use the hashtag #skiingforall in the caption.
-Note: PRIVATE accounts must be set to PUBLIC for the purposes of the contest.
-Think of your whole post as your application (it will all be considered!). Use the visuals and the caption to convey why you need the one-and-only Loveland Pass Pass.
Contest Timeline
The submission period will run from September 19 to October 10. Four finalists will be chosen by Powder7 for the Final Vote, which will begin on October 14. It will be open to the public. Polls will close at 11:59 p.m. MST on October 20. The winner will be announced LIVE from Powder7 World Headquarters on Monday October 21.
Official Contest Rules
-The contest is limited to skiers in North America (but if you don’t live in Colorado, you should probably think about some time off work and plane tickets).
-Only submissions on Instagram and Facebook that match the submission requirements will be considered.
-The contest winner will receive one full season pass to Loveland Ski Area and one full season pass to Arapahoe Basin.
-The contest winner will be asked to share a headshot-style photo for promotional purposes.
-The contest winner will be asked to tag @Powder7 and #skiingforall throughout the ski season in ski-related social media posts. In some cases, original photo files may be requested.
-Powder7 reserves the right to select the Final Four and make any changes to the contest as they see fit.
