We have a feeling you’re going to love the new 2017 Head Skis. One big change you’ll see is the update to the Supershape series. These speedy frontsiders now have very wide tips and tails. This will help to bust through variable snow conditions making a favorite even better. The Titan’s dimensions are now 137/80/117 with a 14.1m radius at 170cm. For reference, the 2016 Titan is 133/80/111 with a 14m radius at 170cm. Its not hugely different but its noticeable. The bindings will now match each individual ski better too.

Do you know if the Total Joy’s have any changes other than the graphic?
Hi JD,
Thanks for writing in! There haven’t been any changes to the Total Joy except for the graphics.
Dan
demo runs sunday on 2017 supershape rally & speed. small hill so not many turns at speed & not full speed. new model is much lighter but skis the same as last years. noticed a popping sound after a run going slow on long outrun( skis cooling down?) these skis speak to my need! very fast, these skis love high speed. the ski can be trusted to be thrown into any turn at any speed & come out like your on rails. put em on edge & let em run!
Thanks for the inside info, Ben!
Do you know what month the super joys will be released?
Hi Hanna,
Thanks for writing in! We’re hoping to get the new Head skis in August. Please feel free to call the shop at 303.237.7547 if you have any other questions.

I demoed the 2017 head super joy ski & fell in love with them. What differences are there between the ’16 & ’17 skis?
Hi Sheila,
Thanks for your question! The only difference between the 2016 and 2017 Super Joy skis is a slight update to the topsheet graphics on the new skis. Let us know if you have any other questions!
Cheers,
Dan
How much of a difference between 2017 and 2016 Titans? Worth the extra $?
Hi Dave,
Thanks for your question! The biggest difference between the 2016 and 2017 model Titans (and all the i.Supershape line) is that new skis all feature Graphene in their construction. Head redesigned the line using updated materials, namely Graphene, a Nobel Prize winning material with unparalleled strength-to-weight ratios. Worth the money? Hard to say definitively, but Head has put a lot into this revamped i.Supershape lineup. Overall, the Titans will still be a great choice for a skier who wants a frontside-focused ski that can handle almost anything.

Can you tell me what changes have been made to the 2017 Monster 88’s vs. the 2016 Monster 88?
Thanks
Hi!
First of all, congrats for the post, very useful!
Now here’s my question…
My current pair is a 161cm Völkl AC Sensor (I know, quite short). Not sure if I reeeally need new skis yet, but I’m on the look for new ones, and the 2017 Supershape Titan is currently leading the race (especially cause I may be able to get a great deal for a new pair – hopefully around US$400).
Here’s some info about me: I’m 185cm tall (6’1″), 81kg (179lbs), sportive, 29ys old, from Brazil, living in Europe (usually go skiing in Austria). Started skiing only 2-3 years ago, so far have spent about 20 days on the mountains (but still got 14 more days left this season!) and in indoor halls about 30 times. So far, probably had about 22 hours of private lessons or so. So I’m not that experienced, but I’m a VERY eager skier and trying my best to improve. Next Easter I’m also taking an intensive 5-day course, so I expect to improve even more.
I mainly ski on-piste but I’d like a pair which could also eventually handle some powder.
I’m just wondering if the 2017 Titans would be suitable for me. Do you think they might be too much for my level (too hard, too stiff, not forgiving, etc), or do you think they’re also good for a beginner-intermediate trying very hard level up? (and looking for a beautiful piece of decoration to stare at throughout the year in his room)
Sorry for the long message, and thanks a lot in advance!
Were there any differences between the 2016 and 2017 Raw Instincts skis (besides the graphics?) Thanks!
@Gustavo Thanks for writing in! Based on the information you provided the Supershape series by Head sounds like it would be right up your alley. Like the AC Sensor, the i.Titan loves to carve the groomed runs. It would not be the ideal ski for powder, but if it was a few inches this ski could definitely handle it. Most people would use this ski as their front side ski and pair it with another ski for a powder specific setup. Performance wise, this ski is very easy to turn so intermediates often like it for that reason, but you can also really push the limits of this ski if you are more of an advanced to expert skier. Hope this helps!
@Kerry The only updates on the Raw Instinct were the topsheet, it still uses the WC Sandwich construction with Ti to stabilize at higher speeds.
Can you tell me what differences or changes were made between the 2016 and 2017 Head Monster 88 – Thanks
