2014 Nordica Wildfire On Snow Review

The Wildfire is a big ski. At 105mm underfoot and with an 18m turning radius in the 161cm length, it’s a charger. I took the Wildfire out on a groomer day at Keystone. You point the ski and it flies. I can’t imagine the behemoth of ski it would be without the rocker. Tip and tail rocker are definitely necessary and welcome with this set of boards. The Wildfire delivered on the groomed runs just as I expected it to.

If you’ve skied on any of the Nordica Women’s Sidecountry skis, you’ll know what I mean when I say: they’re stiff and they rip. I was excited to try out the Wildfire because of the wider waist width than the Nemesis and the rockered tail. I took the Wildfire out on a random non-powder day (we’re having an amazing season out here in CO!) but I know that a ski like this would just crush it all day with powder and chopped up snow in the late afternoon. It’s similar to the Icelantic Nomad RKR but stiffer in the tip and tail. Even with the wider platform, I had a blast riding it all day long. Laying big arcs in the soft March snow on a day that’s not busy is perfection. See you out there!
