Featuring Volkl&#8217;s innovative Titanal Frame, the M5 was livelier, lighter, and zippier than a YKK. It took off with advanced and expert skiers alike, so for 2020, Volkl will double down on their Titanal Frame construction. This year, Volkl has completely reimagined their freeride line: check out 2020 Volkl Skis.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Volkl Skis 2020 Mantra 102 Review with Powder7\" width=\"1020\" height=\"574\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/NeSf61hn59s?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h2>2020 Volkl Skis Highlights:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.powder7.com\/Volkl-Mantra-M5-Skis\/for-sale\"><strong>M5 Mantra<\/strong><\/a> returns untouched &#8211; but now we have the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.powder7.com\/Volkl-Mantra-102-Skis\/for-sale\"><strong>Mantra 102<\/strong><\/a>, a big brother to the M5. With a fatter 102mm waist, these boards are built to rip big lines. Big lines = longer turns, so Volkl gave the Mantra 102 a 3D Radius Sidecut, lending to a variety of turn shapes. The tight center turn radius provides agility and quickness, while the long tip\/tail radius enhances stability.<\/li>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.powder7.com\/Volkl-Kendo-88-Skis\/for-sale\"><strong>Kendo 88<\/strong><\/a> marks a complete rehaul of the Kendo name. While the old Kendo had a two burly sheets of metal, the Kendo 88 shares the Mantra&#8217;s titanal frame. Like the Mantra 102, the Kendo 88 also has a 3D Radius Sidecut&#8230; so names aside, the Kendo 88 is more similar in construction to the Mantra 102 than the 96-waisted M5 Mantra. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.powder7.com\/Volkl-Secret-Skis\/for-sale\">Secret<\/a>, which debuted in 2019, will be designated the <strong>Secret 92<\/strong> in 2020. There are no structural changes, but a new animal print topsheet. (And side note, each of the women&#8217;s freeride skis have subtle animal print topsheets, and it&#8217;s absolutely fabulous.) Parallel to the men&#8217;s freeride line, Volkl added the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.powder7.com\/Volkl-Secret-102-Skis\/for-sale\"><strong>Secret 102<\/strong><\/a> and a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.powder7.com\/Volkl-Kenja-88-Skis\/for-sale\">Kenja 88<\/a>,<\/strong> both with titanal frames and 3D Radius Sidecuts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure id=\"attachment_9231\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-9231\" style=\"width: 454px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-9231\" src=\"https:\/\/www.powder7.com\/ski-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/2020-Volkl-Womens-Skis.jpg\" alt=\"2020 Volkl Skis\" width=\"454\" height=\"605\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.powder7.com\/ski-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/2020-Volkl-Womens-Skis.jpg 454w, https:\/\/www.powder7.com\/ski-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/2020-Volkl-Womens-Skis-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 454px) 100vw, 454px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-9231\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Secret 102, Secret 92, and Kenja 88 look spicy with animal print topsheets.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h3>More skis to look for<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>Katana V. Werks<\/strong> and <strong>Mantra V. Werks<\/strong> are back untouched. The big news here is Marker&#8217;s new touring binding, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.powder7.com\/Marker-Kingpin-M-Werks-12-Ski-Bindings\/sale\"><strong>Marker Kingpin M-Werks 12<\/strong><\/a>. Like the <strong>Kingpin 13<\/strong>, the Kingpin M-Werks has outstanding power transmission&#8211;but now in a lighter package.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Both the men and women\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.powder7.com\/Volkl-90Eight-Skis\/for-sale\"><strong>90eights<\/strong>\u00a0<\/a>and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.powder7.com\/Volkl-100Eight-Skis\/for-sale\"><strong>100eights<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0are back unfussed with. If it ain&#8217;t broke&#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Big mountain skiers, look out for the brand-new <strong>Revolt 121<\/strong> for powder chasing.
