Teaching beginner skiers can be challenging. Later, when your skier graduates from pizza to french fries, instruct the skier to alleviate pressure on the uphill ski, putting all of their weight on the downhill ski.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Get your mind right:\u00a0<\/strong>Stay positive and talk to your skier about what to expect before getting on the hill.\u00a0 &#8220;Don&#8217;t expect to be a pro day one,&#8221; says\u00a0Nick, Powder7 shipping guru and amateur instructor.\u00a0\u00a0If your skier is frustrated, just enjoy the good company and mountain air.\u00a0\u00a0&#8220;When in doubt, grab a drink at the lodge and enjoy the views.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Get the right gear:\u00a0<\/strong>Long skis feel<\/span>\u00a0heavy and\u00a0unwieldy for\u00a0a beginner.\u00a0 It&#8217;s tempting to buy a longer pair that your skier will &#8220;grow into,&#8221;
