With a cult following and lifelong Mantra fans, making a <em>new <\/em>Mantra is a significant undertaking. In this latest evolution of the Mantra, Volkl is determined to be just as Mantra-like as ever, with refinements to make it more fun than ever. But that&#8217;s not the whole story from Volkl either. Most notably, Volkl tweaks the sidecut through the tip of the ski with a new design called 4Drive. Like your nimble and planted four-wheel drive vehicle, the Mantra M7 is stable at various speeds and turn shapes. The tip shape feels more precise than older versions. You still get the 3D Sidecut Radius, which opens the skis up to various turn shapes. Volkl&#8217;s also updated the metal shape on the inside of the ski and refined the flex pattern. Volkl explained this to be more forgiving in places, but we found it&#8217;s still the chef&#8217;s knife of this category and didn&#8217;t have a speed limit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Volkl redesigned the Carbon Tailored Tips to be more consolidated and stronger. That dampens the tip without dropping the rigidity too far into the mid-center of the ski. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All the directional, metal laminate skis in Volkl&#8217;s lineup are now under the Mantra moniker. So Kendo 88 becomes Mantra 88, and Katana 108 the Mantra 108. Volkl confirmed these skis aren&#8217;t changing in construction this year, just a new name. The ladies&#8217; Secret line gets the same name consolidation. The <strong>Secret 96 <\/strong>gets the same updates as the men&#8217;s Mantra M7. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/www.powder7.com\/ski-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/volkl-skis-2025-2.jpg\" alt=\"volkl mantra m7 and other mantra skis for 2025\" class=\"wp-image-15941\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.powder7.com\/ski-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/volkl-skis-2025-2.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.powder7.com\/ski-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/volkl-skis-2025-2-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.powder7.com\/ski-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/volkl-skis-2025-2-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>The line up from left to right, with iconic Kendo blue on the left. <\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>But, Volkl isn&#8217;t just releasing a new Mantra and calling it a day. They&#8217;ve also redesigned key models in their Blaze series. An updated Blaze 94 and all-new Blaze 104 (replacing the 106). Formerly pitched as lightweight freeride skis to take into the backcountry, the new skis gain some weight (very little) and are beefed up to handle the rigors of resort skiing. All-new tip construction and shape keeps the tips tracking smoothly. The hallmark skis, the Peregrine 82 and Peregrine 80 come with a touch more tip rocker for easy turn initiation, but still offer plenty of camber and a directional shape to rail turns. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/www.powder7.com\/ski-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/volkl-skis-2025-4.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15947\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.powder7.com\/ski-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/volkl-skis-2025-4.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.powder7.com\/ski-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/volkl-skis-2025-4-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.powder7.com\/ski-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/volkl-skis-2025-4-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Other Highlights<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>New graphics on <strong>Racetiger GS<\/strong> and <strong>Racetiger SL<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aside from the Peregrine 82 and 80, the rest of the &#8220;Peregrine&#8221; series are new graphics and new names on the old Deacon series.
