After releasing their latest and greatest technology in the Pagoda Tour last year, this year we get an all new resort collection: Kaizen. Top it off with a brand new Koala, and we&#8217;ve got ourselves some fun new skis to try from DPS for 2024. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/www.powder7.com\/ski-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/dpsskis2024_2-rotated.jpg\" alt=\"dps skis 2024\" class=\"wp-image-14155\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.powder7.com\/ski-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/dpsskis2024_2-rotated.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.powder7.com\/ski-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/dpsskis2024_2-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.powder7.com\/ski-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/dpsskis2024_2-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What&#8217;s New<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">First, a bit of context. This year, DPS drops their &#8220;RP&#8221; and &#8220;C2&#8221; nomenclature from their model names. Now, the ski names are simplified and there are general shapes DPS uses, but they have a bit more freedom to tinker with shapes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Replacing the old (but gold) Pagoda series this year are the new Kaizen skis. The ski selection is slimmer, with a<strong> Kaizen 100<\/strong> and <strong>Kaizen 112<\/strong> that have a more rockered profile, and the <strong>Kaizen 105<\/strong> with a more directional shape. DPS describes the  Kaizen 105 as having a longer turn radius, a longer effective edge, and less tip taper all to help it hold an edge and give greater stability in variable snow conditions. DPS uses the carbon laminate developed for the Pagoda Tours last season, as well as tweaks to the ash in the wood core with a new glue that improves dampening. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There&#8217;s also new news for the Koala freestyle skis: a Golidlocks Koala 111. Slotting between the Koala 103 and Koala 118, the Koala 111 offers a more responsive ride in tight terrain, while floating better and being more stable in choppy conditions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"707\" height=\"161\" src=\"https:\/\/www.powder7.com\/ski-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/koala-111.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14157\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.powder7.com\/ski-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/koala-111.png 707w, https:\/\/www.powder7.com\/ski-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/koala-111-300x68.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 707px) 100vw, 707px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Other Highlights<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.powder7.com\/DPS-Koala-103-Skis\/for-sale\">Koala 103<\/a><\/strong> recieved an update to the flex, the core, and rocker profile. The 118 remains unchanged. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No changes to the Pagoda Tours series after an overhaul last season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The powder machine <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.powder7.com\/DPS-Pagoda-Lotus-124-Skis\/for-sale\">Lotus 124<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.powder7.com\/DPS-Pagoda-Lotus-117-Skis\/for-sale\">Lotus 117<\/a><\/strong> come back with fresh graphics.
