Their collection is the largest.<\/em> <em>We first tested the new gear at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vail.com\/\">Vail<\/a>.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s not to say K2 is the only brand currently gunning to be America&#8217;s top freeride ski company. Believe us, they aren&#8217;t. However, their push over the last few years may be the most apparent of any brand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First, they rolled out a dozen Mindbender skis. Then they garnished the collection with the freestyle-driven Reckoners. Then they added Dispatch, the free-touring skis made for experts. And all along, their boots just kept getting better. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"2023-2024 K2 Skis and Boots Preview | Powder7\" width=\"1020\" height=\"574\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/S3XHC9BfSaw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Now for 2023-2024, K2 latches onto the hottest topic in ski gear trends: BOA boots. Of the four companies rolling out BOA models in their new collections, K2 is going the deepest, with BOA models in Recon, Mindbender, Anthem, and Dispatch. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Oh, and of course\u2014they also freshen up all the Mindbenders for 2023-2024 with new art <em>and <\/em>add new models: the Mindbender 96 C and 106 C. Plus, they&#8217;re another brand making significant strides in sustainability. That push includes aiming for 100% use of bio-resin in the next few years (they&#8217;re currently at 38%), 100% natural wax, and algae based sidewalls. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lots to be excited for. Here&#8217;s the deal: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"2023-2024 K2 Mindbender 96 C and 106 C First Look | Powder7\" width=\"1020\" height=\"574\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/WynmEQp5MZ4?list=PLIewlEgRfXGVZIW9EL-ITo-NKxS63H6oN\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What&#8217;s New<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>New <strong>Mindbender 96 C <\/strong>and <strong>106 C<\/strong>. All-new carbon construction with flax for vibration absorption without extra weight. These skis weight about 150g less than the Ti versions and offer a different feel with excellent suspension for skiers who don&#8217;t want metal. More dynamic, accessible, and precision-oriented than the Ti Mindbenders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Updated construction for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.powder7.com\/K2-Mindbender-116-C-Skis\/for-sale\">Mindbender 116 C<\/a>. Matches the carbon construction in the narrower Mindbender Cs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New <strong>Crescendo<\/strong> ski. Updated version of the classic Pontoon. Similar to the Mindbender 116 C but with more taper in the tail. Also, lighter than the previous Pontoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New construction in the <strong>Wayback <\/strong>touring series, plus a new sidecut for the Wayback 106. More rocker for better soft snow performance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New lineup of <strong>BOA boots<\/strong>. With the brand new, ski-specific BOA mechanism, these boots boast better wrapping, a more locked-in heel, better adjustability, and better pressure distribution. With the BOA adjustment, lasts range from 97mm to 104mm.
