Salomon brings the rest of the QSTs up to speed for 2022-23.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

There’s plenty to love about Salomon<\/a> right now. Cody Townsend’s chasing down the 50 Classic Ski Descents of North America on the QSTs. The athlete-rich Quality Ski Time film tour featured bangers like Tales from Cascadia and packed houses across the West. The Shift binding<\/a> continues to represent a whole category of hybrid resort\/touring gear. And, per usual, product innovations and updates feel well-designed and well-timed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sure, lots of boils down to wicked-good marketing. But by and large, the goods have been turning heads on the hill too. Last fall, we named the QST 98 and QST Blank among our top picks of 2021-2022. Now, we’re stoked to see the remaining QSTs receive updated constructions to match. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main event? A refreshed QST 106, which skis better than ever and comes in a full size run (down to 157cm), making it available to guy or gal freeriders. That marks an exciting trend in the industry: more unisex skis! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anyway, here’s the full rundown on 2022-23 gear from Salomon: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For our money, the 2023 Salomon QST 106 is the best QST 106 yet.<\/em> We first tested it at Copper Mountain<\/a>. <\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

What’s New<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Updated QST 106<\/a>. Updates match the QST Blank<\/a> and QST 98<\/a> from last year. Lighter weight (150g lighter than previous 106), new shape, new sidecut with rocker to match, double sidewalls, metal plate underfoot. The new QST 106 is also offered in sizes down to 157cm, making it a “unisex” ski. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Updated QST 92<\/a>. Similar updates: lighter, tighter radius, new shape, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Redesigned MTN<\/strong> skis. Models are: MTN 96 Carbon, MTN 86 Pro, MTN 86 W Pro, MTN 80 Pro. Cork damplifier and Karuba woodcores (plus poplar in non-96 models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Updated women’s QST collection: Stella<\/a>, Lumen<\/a>, Lux. These skis feature the same updated constructions as the men’s skis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

New Strive 14<\/strong> and Strive 16<\/strong> alpine bindings. Similar profile to the Shift with low stack height plus strong energy transfer and healthy elastic travel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
