Blizzard Skis 2023: The First Look<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Blizzard Skis 2023 lineup includes fresh paint jobs all around, plus a new collection: Hustle.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

If you’re a ski brand in 2022 and you’re introducing a new lineup of “lightweight freeride skis,” you can’t exactly claim originality. We’ve been writing about this emerging (and trendy) category of skis for four years now. But\u2014does it matter?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To build off the firecracker success of their now ubiquitous Rustler and Sheeva lines, Blizzard introduces lighter touring-focused versions of those skis for 2023: Hustle. It’s a unisex ski line with three models (9, 10, and 11) that match the waist widths of Rustler\/Sheeva. And if you think the skis should be called “Hustler,” just know you’re not alone. (Side note, we’ve heard Blizzard employees are printing ‘R’ stickers en masse to slap on their personal skis. We can’t confirm…but our staffers will probably do the same.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hustle skis shave about 200 grams off of their respective Rustler\/Sheeva counterparts by using a lighterweight TruBlend woodcore that blends poplar and paulownia. They slot into the Blizzard lineup as touring-oriented versions of Rustler\/Sheeva but not as touring-crazed as the lighter-still Zero G collection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What’s New<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

New Hustle <\/strong>collection of unisex skis. About 200 grams lighter per pair than corresponding Rustler\/Sheeva skis. Lighter-weight TruBlend core with poplar and paulownia. Bi-directional carbon sheet underfoot. Models: Hustle 9<\/a>, Hustle 10<\/a>, Hustle 11<\/a>. Waist widths match the Rustlers\/Sheevas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

New graphics and updates to the Bonafide 97<\/a> and Brahma 88<\/a> to make them smoother and more skiable (less “planky”) while retaining their high performance: Thinner wood core, less rubber, plus softer flex in tips and tails.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Slight update to the Black Pearl’s <\/strong>wood core plus new graphics for the 97<\/a>, 88<\/a>, and 82<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

More durable topsheets for Rustler 9<\/a>, 10<\/a>, and 11<\/a> plus Sheeva 9<\/a>, 10<\/a>, and 11<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Redesigned Zero G 95<\/a> and 105<\/a>: Same molds, plus TruBlend<\/a> (poplar\/paulownia) and Carbon Drive 3.0. More maneuverable and smoother in mixed snow conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
