For the 2021-22 ski season, Atomic is overhauling its all-mountain ski collection and debuting two new lines: the Mavericks (men’s) and Mavens (women’s). To save you a trip to Google, here are the answers to two of your initial questions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A maverick <\/strong>is an unorthodox or independent-minded person, while maven <\/strong>refers to an expert or connoisseur. You can see where Atomic is going with this…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In developing the new skis, Atomic leaned heavily (from the get-go) on feedback from normal Joes and Janes across North America. That’s right; they roped consumers into the R&D process from day one, along with shop employees, pros, etc. The result? They already know that lots of skiers will like these skis, which are specifically engineered to handle the variable terrain and snow conditions skiers find in North America rather than Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our early testing at Copper Mountain<\/a> yielded some impressive results. Staffers Zack, Matt, and Chad all agreed that the Maverick 95 Ti is one of the best new skis for 2021-22. They also enjoyed the skinnier and wider versions, along with the Maven 93 C. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What’s New<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

New men’s all-mountain skis: Maverick 95 Ti<\/strong>, 88 Ti<\/strong>, and 100 Ti<\/strong>. These skis feature two thin sheets of 0.4mm titanium plus poplar, fiberglass, HRZN tech tips. Effective edge length and tail rocker profile varies through the line, with the narrower skis having more of the former and less of the latter. The 86 C and 83 round out the line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New women’s all-mountain skis: Maven 93 C<\/strong> and 86 C.<\/strong> These skis largely mirror the men’s versions, but they include carbon rather than metal to shed some weight and slightly mellow out the flex. The entry-level 86 <\/strong>rounds out the line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Redesigned Redster<\/strong> skis, complete with Revoshock. Revoshock is a suspension system for your skis, using spring steel modeules encased in impact-absorbing elastomer to provide, according to Atomic, unparalleled shock absorption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New “Professional Series” boots in the Redster <\/strong>and Hawx <\/strong>lines: Hawx Ultra 130 Professional GW<\/strong>, Hawx Prime 130 Professional GW<\/strong>, and Redster CS 130 Professional<\/strong>. The boots feature a new level of performance and customization, including new Mimic Professional liners and Prolite technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
