The Duke PT 13 has set the bar high for 50/50 bindings. Now, I will admit the amount of moving parts can be a little intimidating when getting acquainted with this binding. However, the transition from uphill to downhill is actually quite intuitive after doing it once. I love the toe piece on the way up hill, and I really love how the binding skis once transitioned into down hill mode. It may not be the lightest in its class, but durability and reliability is top notch!

Our Take + Features:

The Marker Duke PT 13 blends full-on alpine performance on the downhill with touring performance for the skin up. Marker uses their tried and true alpine heel pieces to lock you in for the descent, with a toe piece design that swaps between uphill and downhill. Remove the alpine toe piece to reveal a tech/pin style toe piece for easy uphill travel. When you're ready for the downhill, just snap the toe piece back into place and you're ready to shred. It's a system that becomes second nature with very little practice, and it delivers unparalleled versatility. For skiers who spend most of their time at the resort, but need a do-it-all binding for backcountry skiing, the Duke PT delivers the ideal blend of both. This binding works equally well for folks who look for a burly binding for all their skiing, inbounds or out. The Marker Duke PT gets a refresh this year, with the previous Marker Duke PT 12 splitting into the Marker Duke PT 13 and Marker Duke PT 11. The idea is simple: have the hybrid style Duke PT mirror the massively popular Royal family series from Marker. The Duke PT 13 features the classic Marker Griffon heel tower alongside the Duke PT hybrid toe piece we've come to love. Particularly light or more conservative skiers should choose the Duke PT 11, while heavier or more aggressive skiers will love the extra heft of the Duke PT 16 (which features the infamous Jester heel piece).
