The award-winning Pivot is the most trusted and reliable alpine binding in skiing. The Pivot 18 is a high-performance freeride binding with an 8-18 DIN range. The all-metal reinforced toepiece combined with the classic turntable heel results in fewer instances of pre-releasing, and offers the ability to set bindings at lower release values.Pivot Toe: the toe piece has four points of contact with the boot providing maximum power transmission. The toe has 180 degrees of multi-directional release capability. It has a high level of vertical and lateral elastic travel (40mm) which provides for shock absorption and reduces inadvertant release. It also has the widest AFD on the market with a 72mm Teflon piece. There is a low ramp angle. The toe piece has one of the widest mounting zones available which is perfect for wider skis.Pivot Heel: 3 points of contact firmly hold the boot heel, and rotate the boot directly under the tibia. A short mounting zone provides deeper, rounder, more consistent ski flexing, turning, and floating.
Something Special
The Look Pivot 18's are something special because I haven't had any random ejections. Perhaps my dins are set really high and I rarely yard sale... The (heel) structure seems complicated at first, but once you get passed the struggles of swiftly clicking in and out, there is nothing these bindings can't handle besides your impatience. Just give them some TLC and they'll become your best friend. Hot Laps for days!

Click here for ski binding DIN Chart & Calculator. DIN is a scale of the force required for a binding to release. The lower a DIN number, the easier a binding releases; the higher the DIN number, the harder it is for a binding to release.
