Dynamic and precise, the LXW HD is designed to conquer the entire mountain -- from powdery back bowls to luscious glades. Hand-crafted from the finest materials on the market, Lacroix makes serious skis defined by their precision engineering. This ski is a proud member of the high-performing LXR line, yet the LXW HD has freeride features and wider waist at 90mm -- making it friendlier for off-piste adventures. Freeride features include a more pronounced rocker profile for better float on soft snow and the LX OCC wood core. The OCC wood core strategically places lightweight, low-density wood in the center of the ski for better maneuverability, as well as harder woods along the edges for greater stability and edge hold. The inner wood core is wrapped in durable carbon and Kevlar fibers. Even at lightening-fast speeds, the ultra-light Kevlar fibers make for a damp and stable ride, while carbon helps transmit energy from your burning legs to these powerful planks. The core is then sandwiched by titanal, increasing torsional strength and precision. To increase flexibility and elasticity, Lacroix treats these titanal panels with extreme heat. In conjunction with all-mountain rocker, this treatment provides the sensation of effortless carving and exceptional maneuverabilty. Straight sidewall surrounding the core provides unparralled edge grip on hard pack. Finally, the LXW HD is finished with an Electra Base built with graphite to reduce friction, ensuring optimal glide and a smooth ride. Whether you like to shred steeps or dart through bumps, nothing out-performs the LXW HD as an all-mountain ski.
