2015 Kastle FX104 Description:

Are you an aggressive all-mountain ripper who likes the idea of piloting one of the best skis in the world? Well, you're in luck: the Kastle FX104 is a big, bad ski for big, bad skiers. Developed with pro freeskier Chris Davenport, the FX104 crushes everything in its path, on piste or off. New for this year, the addition of an early-rise tip and thicker titanal layers somehow makes this ski simultaneously beefier and more user-friendly. But make no mistake: this ski likes going fast on the frontside and going huge on the backside. Basically, Kastle built a freeride ski with the heart of a race ski. What does that feel like? It feels like a powerhouse. The tip rocker helps the ski plane higher in deep snow, blow through the chop, and effortlessly initiate turns. Meanwhile, the metal-reinforced wood backbone and Hollowtech shovel deliver a smooth, precise ride on everything up to and including bulletproof frozen gran. If I knew anything about cars, I'd compare the FX104 to some luxurious sports car. But I don't. So I'll just say that it is awesome. Enjoy.
