The 2015 G3 Empress Carbon 115 is a serious powder tool for skiers who love to rip. The Carbon PowerRide construction features poplar/paulownia wood cores between sheets of 7000-series titanal aluminum and a triaxial carbon fiber for torsion and flex. While metal absorbs chop like its going out of style, the carbon gets you one peak further due to the lightness. The result is a powerful, stable, and fun performance ski beyond anything you will find in this tour-friendly lightweight freeride category. A Progressive, continuous reverse camber profile is matched to the sidecut radius for powerful, fast, big lines in deep powder, and they still hold an edge on hardpack. ABS plastic and thermoplastic urethane sidewalls stand up to impacts and give the skis a lot of pop when coming out of turns. Glossy nylon topsheets keep snow from building up on the tops of the skis. Durable steel edges stand up to regular use and dig into hard icy slopes. The G3 Empress Carbon 115 telemark/randonee skis have P-Tex 2000 Electra bases that are very durable and absorb wax well for good glide. This is the same ski as the Empire 115, but is given a slightly different name and a slightly different topsheet to appeal to lady rippers.
