This Ski Is A Staff Favorite:

Powder7 Staff Pick Justin
By: Justin
This ski, my friends, is a great ski. And I don't like anything. Ask around. When picking a ski, I tend to prefer fat, soft, and versatile options--which is weird, because I'm thin, rigid, and completely one-dimensional. Despite the metal reinforcement underfoot, the Rustler 11 has the perfect medium-stiff flex for a playful big mountain board, and feels surprisingly light for all its girth. And that girth is nice, too. A 112mm waist width handles all but the deepest days in the Western mountains, without sacrificing stability or mobility when conditions get sporty. I'm usually on skis that are 110-115mm wide, and the Rustler 11 is probably the one I ended up reaching for most often this winter. That's quite an endorsement from me, since I'm either a living, breathing ski expert or a very well-constructed bot.

Our Take:

Whether you're looking down a steep face, scoping your pillow lines, or taking hot laps with the crew, the Blizzard Rustler 11 is the perfect big sending partner. The Rustler 11 hits a sweet spot in the big mountain category, wide enough for floating in powder and deep snow, without being so wide that it feels bulky in tight terrain. Blizzard revamped the Rustler 11 for 2023-2024, with a new metal shape and new True Blend wood core. The new "Flux Form" metal frame includes a metal sheet underfoot with metal strips alongside your edges. As the widest in the Rustler category, the Rustler 11 features the least amount of metal to maximize play in soft snow. But this ski was built with freeride athletes in mind, so you can trust your skis will support you on that spicy runout at speed. The updated metal shape does work to keep the ski stable at speed and through variable snow, and the True Blend wood core gives you the perfect balance of power where you need it with playful tips and tails. In short? The new Rustler 11 charges harder, while still keeping that playful flavor. We throw the term "playful charger" around a lot, and there's not another ski that fits it to the bill more than the Rustler 11.

Features:

  • - Freeride Rocker
  • - True Blend Wood Core: Paulownia/Beech/Poplar
  • - Flux Form Titanal Frame
  • - 2065 grams / 186cm
