This Ski Is A Staff Favorite:
When I first mentioned to my co-workers that I would be mounting up the Cochise with a tele binding, they thought I was nuts. It's too big, it's too burly, it's too much ski! Whatever. I will say that at 177cm the ski was over my head, and as I walked to the lift I began to wonder if the comments were valid. However, after spending a day exploring Crested Butte this ski certainly gets my seal of approval. For a wide ski with two sheets of metal, the Cochise is incredibly nimble. Quick enough to take on those tight lines, damp and stable when the going gets rough, and wide enough to float through anything. The Cochise is a cross between the bull it's named after, and a snowshoe hare. Wrap your head around that!
2019 Blizzard Cochise Description:
The 2018 Cochise comes back to us with no changes except for topsheet graphics. On any terrain and at any speed, the Cochise is stable, smooth, and powerful--and has the magazine awards to prove it. At 108mm underfoot, and with rocker at the tip and tail, this ski floats in the deep stuff, delivering effortless surfy turns. Meanwhile, a stout wood core reinforced with two sheets of metal provides tenacious grip on groomed snow and a damp ride on the worst surfaces. Big, burly, and lively, the Blizzard Cochise is not for the faint of heart--but for big mountain skiers who like to do it all, this bull demands to be ridden.
