Fast Forward: 2016 Kastle Skis

New 2016 Kastle Skis On Sale Now! In Stock and Ready to be Skied!

It comes as no surprise that Kästle (say it “Kess-lee,” “Kest-lah,” or “Kass-lay”) has another great line of skis ready for 2015-2016.

The Austrian ski manufacturer has given us a lineup that, much like countryman Arnold Schwarzenegger’s work, covers all bases and does so with gusto – from aggressive all mountain skis that would suit Conan the Barbarian, to more relaxed and mellow rides geared for the Kindergarten Cops out there, the 2015-2016 Kästle lineup has you covered.

Arnold can be relaxed and fun
Arnold can also be a bit aggressive.

The Kästle mainstays are back and better than ever.

Frontside specialists will want to check out the RX 12.  Superior edge control, nimble handling, and stability at speed sets the RX 12 apart as a precision tool for pure on piste performance.

All-mountain skiers who spend most of their time on the frontside will enjoy Kästle’s signature smooth ride in the LX, CPM, and MX series.  The LX 72 and LX 82 are light, nimble, cap construction skis that are reliably sporty and agile, while also maintaining a higher degree of forgiveness than the MX series.

The 2016 Kastle LX series

The MX series is a more aggressive ski with a full sidewall that will help power through more variable conditions and hold a solid edge on harder, icier snow.  With waist widths at 70mm, 78mm, 83mm, 88mm, and 98mm, the MX series offers a ski for anyone who wants to make race-inspired turns all over the mountain, be it on frontside groomers or on backside crud.

New this year is the CPM 82.  Bridging the gap between the LX and MX series, the CPM is a cap construction ski that has added stiffness thanks to carbon fiber and titanal in its construction.  With its special edition full black K12 Ti bindings, the CPM 82 is a ski for the discerning all-mountain skier spending most of their day on the frontside.

This year’s FX series is different as well.  Chris Davenport’s signature FX ski now comes in two varieties: regular, and HP.  The regular version has a wood core for a smooth and clean ride, while the HP version comes with 2 sheets of metal in its construction to provide more power and snap.  With waist widths of 85mm and 95mm, there’s an FX ski for everyone.  Similarly, the BMX 105 is available in wood or HP (2 sheets of metal) versions, while the BMX 115 is only available with the standard, metal-free construction.

The TX touring series is back as well, light for the way up, without sacrificing performance on the way down.  Waist widths of 87, 97, and 107 allow options for all types of snow conditions from windblown crust to powder.

Kästle’s XX freestyle series is back with their fully symmetrical skis in 80, 90, 110 mm waist widths for those park and pipe riders looking for playful twintips that will handle the entire mountain.

Whether you’re an experienced Kästle skier or new to the brand, get yourself out there on a pair of Kästle skis and, like Arnold, you’ll be saying, “I’ll be back.”

“I’ll be back… To enjoy all these skis from Kästle.”

  1. I wish I had a firstborn child I could sell to get a pair of Kess-lees.
