The Moment crew are real skiers. Rather than dish hypotheticals and buzz words, they get out and charge. You can tell by how the skis look...and especially how they ski. The Meridian, back with new graphics for 2020-2021, proves that the gang knows what they are doing. While countless ski industry hacks say fully rockered skis only belong in deep powder, the Moment guys chuckle. Then they go shred steeps, bumps, groomers, bowls, and trees on the Meridian with reckless abandon. These skis measure a mid-fat 107mm underfoot, planting them squarely in the stoopid-popular category of all-mountain powder/freeride/big-mountain skis. Even with so many skis in that hard-to-name category, the Meridian maintains its own unique identity. It is stiff from tip to tail, giving it a bomber quality as it busts through crud and chop and holds sturdy edges on firm snow. Fully rockered skis do not inherently carve worse than skis with camber; they just feel different. And when you get into the soft stuff or the tight places, all that rocker means you reap the benefits of the most pivoty and slashable design in skiing. Oh, and in addition to crushing all the terrain you want it to crush, the Meridian also stomps drops...whether you butter into them or hit them straight and fast. This is a creative ski made by creative skiers.
